Prestige Beauty Sales Rise Six Percent in Q2

Color cosmetics falters as skin care and fragrance continues momentum.

In the second quarter of 2018, sales of US prestige beauty products were $4.3 billion, a six percent increase over Q2 2017, according to The NPD Group.   Prestige makeup sales remained flat over Q2 2017, with face makeup the best-performing segment of the market driven by dollar gains in concealer, and smaller subsegments including powder and tinted moisturizer.
